The Firm

From HLF to DS-HLF and HLF International

HLF International traces its origins to the creation of the firm Hamzi Law Firm (HLF) in Casablanca in 1999.

From its inception, the firm was conceived as a business law practice dedicated to advising companies and investors operating in Morocco. Over time, HLF developed a strong reputation for assisting international industrial groups and financial institutions engaged in complex legal and regulatory matters.

The firm progressively expanded its areas of expertise to include corporate law, tax and customs law, industrial and infrastructure projects, maritime law, regulatory matters and dispute resolution.

A significant milestone in the firm’s development occurred when HLF entered into a cooperation with DS Avocats, an international law firm headquartered in Paris. This collaboration led to the creation of DS-HLF, enabling the Casablanca office to operate within an international legal network and to participate in numerous cross-border projects involving Europe, Africa and Asia.

During this period, the firm strengthened its capabilities in international transactions, cross-border investment projects and multi-jurisdictional legal coordination.

The experience gained within this international network contributed significantly to the firm’s professional culture and its capacity to advise clients operating across multiple jurisdictions.

In 2026, the firm entered a new phase of its development and resumed its historical identity under the name HLF International.

This evolution reflects the firm’s strategic decision to operate under an independent governance model, while maintaining and further developing an international ecosystem of trusted partner firms across key jurisdictions.

Today, HLF International combines more than two decades of experience in business law in Morocco with an international outlook that enables the firm to support clients in complex cross-border transactions and investment projects.
